Rachel McAdams told that her rapid popularity caused her to reconsider her personal limits, citing a Vanity Fair photoshoot when she left after realizing she had to appear naked.

McAdams has starred in a long list of classic films. She has perfected the art of portrayal in films ranging from the heartrending The Notebook to the funny but serious Game Night. Mission: Impossible III was one of the ideas she passed on that went on to become a huge success. Why? To put it simply, she didn’t stay true to who she was.

Rachel McAdams claims that she used much of her time off to focus on herself. At the pinnacle of her career, she distanced herself from the things that made her feel uneasy and took a much-needed sabbatical.

In a recent interview with Bustle, Rachel McAdams stated that her relatively unexpected success rapidly prompted her to review her personal limits. She recalled a Vanity Fair photoshoot from which she finally walked out after discovering that she was expected to appear nude.

After that, the A-lister made the conscious decision to withdraw herself from the public eye. She returned to her native Canada in order to concentrate on raising her family and declined prominent parts in movies such as “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Casino Royale,” “Mission: Impossible III,” “Iron Man,” and “Get Smart.”

Knowing her decision was the right one did not make things any easier for her. As she told Bustle, she felt guilty for not capitalizing on the opportunity that was being given to her, knowing that she was in such a lucky spot. She also mentioned that there were some anxious moments of wondering if she was just throwing it all away and why she was doing that.

“I felt guilty for not capitalizing on the opportunity that I was being given, because I knew I was in such a lucky spot. There were definitely some anxious moments of wondering if I was just throwing it all away, and why was I doing that?”

At the same time, she was aware that the route she was on at the moment was not exactly what she wanted. She needed to stay sane. As a result, she made the decision to remain sane.

Years have passed since that moment of tenacity, and now Rachel McAdams is making a career return by acting in the highly anticipated film version of Judy Blume‘s novel “Are You There, God, It’s Me Margaret?” She has developed a fulfilling personal life, and as a result, she is more self-confident than she has ever been. She said that the break made her feel “empowered.”

It helped her feel like she was taking back some control. And she thinks it sort of allowed her to come in from a different doorway, she said.

Even though we’re not all Hollywood stars like Rachel McAdams, her narrative nonetheless rings true for a lot of people. The urge to prioritize monetary achievement above mental health is something that most of us have felt at some point in our lives. But somehow we lose ourselves in between and also our priorities. We’ve always known this to be true, and now there are even more success stories to back it up. While the hustle lifestyle is far from extinct, fewer and fewer people are drawn to it. The greatest success would be achieved if its quiet led to increased empowerment.
