The series will now go through intensive post-production, which is projected to run into 2023, confirming the reported early 2024 premiere date. While filming has concluded and the first eight episodes are still in post-production, a big casting update has been made.
As of now, Jennifer Shirley, renowned for her appearances in “Batwoman” and “Supernatural,” has been cast in an episode of the upcoming Disney+ series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” and Jennifer Shirley As The Oracle has been highlighted by IMDb. However, because Leah Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri, who play Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood, are said to appear in two episodes each, it’s probable that the information for all cast members is inaccurate.
Depth Into The Book:
“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on Rick Riordan‘s best-selling book series. The plot follows Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old demigod who learns his supernatural powers and is accused of stealing Zeus’ master lightning bolt. Percy embarks on an exciting mission to recover the lost bolt and restore equilibrium to Olympus with the assistance of his companions Grover and Annabeth.
In the series, Walker Scobell appears as Percy Jackson, alongside Aryan Simhadri (from Disney’s “Spin”) as Percy’s pal Grover, and Leah Sava Jeffries (from “Empire”) as Annabeth. Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, and Timm Sharp will all appear as recurring guest stars. Luke Castellan will be played by Charlie Bushnell, Clarisse La Rue by Dior Goodjohn, and Nancy Bobofit will be played by Olivea Morton.
Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer, and Jessica Parker Kennedy also join the cast. Lin-Manuel Miranda will portray Hermes and will be among the cast. Jay Duplass will play Hades, and Timothy Omundson will play Hephaestus. Ares will be played by Adam Copeland (WWE wrestler). On Jan 27, Lance Reddick was announced as Zeus and Toby Stephens as Poseidon.
Season 1 filming has concluded. The specific release date for the eight-part series has not been disclosed, and “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” might broadcast on Disney+ in 2024. Although no formal announcement of a second season has been issued, author Rick Riordan feels hopeful about its possibilities.
