‘I Will Work With All Those People Individually Again’. In a recent interview, James Gunn shared his deep bond with the cast of Guardians of The Galaxy. The final chapter in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga is rapidly approaching, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its arrival for years.
This highly-anticipated trilogy-ender promises to be an epic conclusion filled with action, adventure, and perhaps even a touch of heartbreak.
James Gunn & “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” Conclusion
He was named to handle the newly reorganized DC Films alongside Peter Safran by the end of 2022, ushering in a completely new slate for the comics powerhouse.
But first, James Gunn must complete the long-awaited threequel, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ – a film that seems to be the final chapter in his near-decade of creating interplanetary comic book movies at Marvel. It must appear to him as if he is walking on two branches of the same tree.
As Gunn’s final foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the director has also stated that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be the final excursion of the present crew of heroes.
Drax actor Dave Bautista confirmed this, indicating that the next installment will be his final as the character. “I’m eternally thankful to Drax. I adore him. But there’s a sense of relief that it’s finished. It wasn’t all good. It was difficult to perform the part. The cosmetics application was exhausting. And I’m not sure if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a ridiculous performance, and I’d rather do more tragic work.” In an interview with GQ, the actor stated. With the most recent film serving as the last installment.
His Interview And Talks:
In an interview with Empire in promotion of his next final project for Marvel Studios, James Gunn discussed the potential of reusing some of his previous casting selections. “This cast is like family to me,” Gunn stated.
“I can’t tell you how close Chris Pratt, Pom (Klementieff), Dave (Bautista), Zoe (Saldana), and Karen (Gillan) are to me. But I also know that I will work with each of those folks separately again.” “Probably at my other work,” he added.
Of course, James Gunn is alluding to his recent position as co-chair of DC Studios with Peter Safran. While filming the third Guardians feature is his “day job,” Gunn says his obligations for DC are “a very healthy part-time job that’s at least another 40 to 60 hours a week.”
Possibility Of Reunion:
Outside of Joker 2 in late 2024 and what Matt Reeves is working on for his The Batman world, there are four forthcoming DC pictures to look forward to in 2024. Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 was canceled just weeks after Gunn started working at DC Studios, and Henry Cavill revealed he would not return as Superman after all following his Black Adam appearance.
Gunn has stated that a partial DC slate would be announced later in January, but the only item definite for now is the Superman remake. Gunn is working on a story that might be influenced by All-Star Superman. So maybe it will be one of the projects for which Gunn recruits a Guardians of the Galaxy star.
Director James Gunn is known for his penchant for working with actors he adores, and his latest film, The Suicide Squad, has given him the perfect opportunity to assemble a dream team of his favorite performers.
Among the familiar faces in the cast is Michael Rooker as Savant, who has appeared in every film directed by James Gunn since 2006’s Slither. Another frequent collaborator, Nathan Fillion, who played T.D.K. in the Guardians movies, is also part of the team.
And let’s not forget about Pom Klementieff, who portrays Mantis in the Guardians films, who had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance as a dancer at the bar. With such a versatile and talented actress, it would not be a stretch to see her bring another character to life in the DC Universe.
Who knows what will happen? Everything is feasible. Stay tuned for further information.
