In an earlier episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” from 2021, METALLICA read a slew of one-star reviews of their groundbreaking Black Album. Kimmel presided over a December charity performance and auction featuring METALLICA titled “All Within My Hands.”
The metal veterans have plenty of other opportunities to celebrate the release of their 12th studio album, 72 Seasons, which is scheduled for this coming Friday (April 14). One of these opportunities is a one-night-only global premiere cinema event/worldwide listening party that will take place in 81 countries on the night before the collection’s release. This will take place on Thursday (April 13).

When it comes to late-night television, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” holds the record for continuous airing.
Seven years after the release of “Hardwired… To Self-Destruct,” METALLICA has reissued some of its classic albums, released a second live album with the San Francisco Symphony, commissioned a covers album featuring the likes of GHOST, VOLBEAT, WEEZER, and THE HU, and charted with “Master Of Puppets” after prominent placement in the hit Netflix show “Stranger Things.”
