The delighted pair announced their engagement on an episode of Justin Long’s podcast, Life is Short.
The lovebirds, Justin Long, and Kate Bosworth had the world at their feet. According to Bosworth, “I thought it was the most romantic and honest and loving proposal.”

Justin described the amazing string of instances that led up to his proposal as an ‘organic event’ that came together in perfect harmony to create a beautiful moment.
The Barbarian actor eloquently expressed how the proposal felt like an exquisite fusion of emotions, intimately connected to a profound personal transformation that he and his partner were experiencing, emerging effortlessly and authentically.
Long had meticulously crafted plans for Bosworth’s 40th birthday proposal, but life had other plans. He reflected on how unexpected twists and turns can radically alter our course, leaving us with poignant lessons about the unpredictability of life’s journey.
“It felt so organic. The moment connected to something very, very deeply, profoundly personal that we were going through — like, a real-life change — and so it came out in a very organic way. We had a special thing planned around. But things change, and sometimes they change pretty drastically without any warnings.”

The actress chimed in, recounting how they had recently gone through a tough time and had sought the help of a therapist. They were trying to work through their issues at the time, and the therapist had given them a valuable piece of advice: ‘Make sure that you’re pretty consistently asking the other what you need, or asking the other what they need,’ she recalled.
“I remember waking up not so many mornings after that therapy session and I looked at Justin … I smiled at you, and I said, ‘What do you need?’ And he really looked at me and he said, ‘To spend my life with you.’ I smiled and I said, ‘Well, yeah, you have that. Oh my gosh, you have that,’ and he said, ‘No, I mean I really want to spend my life with you,'”

After working together on the 2021 film House of Darkness in Arkansas, the actor and the actress were initially paired romantically in March 2022. In May, Long finally addressed his feelings for her during a podcast interview, adding, “never had anything like this before.”
Bosworth made a whimsical and loving homage to Long with a carousel of photographs, including one of the actor holding her in his arms, before they made their relationship public on Instagram.
Long and Bosworth were seen out and about at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in Beverly Hills, California last month. Many speculated that Bosworth and Cooper had secretly gotten engaged when they saw her wearing a ring in public.
Long will be married for the first time, while Bosworth was previously married to Michael Polish, whom she married in August 2013. In August of 2021, the actress revealed that she and Polish, 52, had separated.
