Nia Long and Udoka split in December 2022 due to alleged affair – ending a decade-long relationship.
Nia Long Unveiled The Identity Of Ime Udoka’s Alleged Mistress
Nia Long, known for her role in “The Best Man,” has stirred up quite a buzz online with a post that many believe was intended to address her ex-fiancé and former Boston Celtics head coach, Ime Udoka’s alleged mistress.
The couple parted ways after being together for 13 years following revelations of Udoka‘s alleged affair with a coworker. Following their breakup, Udoka faced suspension from the team for the 2022-2023 season due to these accusations. Long also criticized the NBA organization for its handling of the situation. However, until now, the woman involved in the alleged affair had remained unnamed.
On Tuesday, Nia Long took to Instagram and shared a video snippet from a conversation on the We Can Do Hard Things podcast featuring hosts Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach, along with guest Dr. Yaba Blay. In the discussion, they explored how society perceives and treats white women’s tears versus Black women’s tears.
However, what caught everyone’s attention was Long’s caption, which read, “Where was this level of awareness a year ago? @celtics #kathleenlynch.”
Observant followers quickly noticed that the hashtag included the name matching the woman who was allegedly involved in the affair with Ime Udoka, which was initially leaked to the press in the past year. It’s worth noting that the Boston Celtics never officially disclosed the identity of the alleged other woman, and this remains undisclosed to this day.
Despite this, it appears that Nia Long is no longer willing to maintain silence and mystery surrounding the situation, and she is openly addressing how the entire situation unfolded, now bringing Kathleen Lynch into the spotlight.

“I think the most heartbreaking thing about all of this was seeing my son’s face when the Boston Celtics organization decided to make a very private situation public,” she expressed when the news of the affair became public. “It was devastating, and it still is. He still has moments where it’s not easy for him. If you’re in the business of protecting women—I’m sorry, no one from the Celtics organization has even called to see if I’m OK, to see if my children are OK. It’s very disappointing.”
In April, Udoka, who currently serves as the head coach for the Houston Rockets, expressed deep regret for the events that took place. He conveyed his remorse in a statement, as reported by People: “Several months ago, I issued a statement addressing the situation and offered my apologies to many individuals for the difficult position I had placed them in. I still stand by those sentiments. Today, I feel an even deeper sense of remorse.”
“I spent this last offseason working on myself in a lot of different ways, improving in areas, and it gave me a chance to sit back, reflect and grow. And I think that’ll make me a better coach and overall a better leader. The matter has been resolved,” he said.
Subsequently, Long has initiated legal proceedings to obtain both legal and physical custody of their 11-year-old son.
