In their signed statement, Hugh Jackman and Deborah Lee expressed, “They have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Their journey now is shifting, and they have decided to separate to pursue their individual growth. Their family has been and always will be their highest priority. They undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness. They greatly appreciate the understanding of the public in respecting their privacy as their family navigates this transition in all of their lives.”
With a 13-year age difference between them, Hugh Jackman and Deborah Lee demonstrated that love knows no boundaries. They initially crossed paths in 1995 while working on their Australian TV show Correlli. In an old interview, Jackman referred to it as love at first sight and revealed that he had known, two weeks after meeting her, that they were destined to be together.

Although Jackman didn’t immediately express his feelings to Lee, he invited her to a dinner party where he eventually confessed his love. Shortly after this confession, the couple exchanged vows in 1996 at a church outside Melbourne, Australia. At the time, Lee was 40 years old, while Jackman was 27.
The couple, Hugh Jackman and Deborra Lee, harbored dreams of starting a family. Unfortunately, they faced the heartbreak of miscarriages. However, in 2000, they fulfilled their dreams when they adopted their first child, Oscar. Five years later, in 2005, the couple expanded their family by adopting a baby girl named Ava.
In April of the current year, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness marked their 27th wedding anniversary in the vibrant setting of New York City. A cherished photograph was shared by Jackman, along with heartfelt words, as he expressed his affection for his wife. Jackman declared, “I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 YEARS!! I love you so much. Together we have created a beautiful family. And life.
