23-Year-Old Miss Universe Finalist Sienna Weir Passed Away In A Horse Riding Accident

Following a devastating horseback riding accident, Miss Universe finalist Sienna Weir passed away after being taken off life support.

The 23-year-old was riding her horse at Sydney’s Windsor Polo Grounds on April 2 when she and her horse fell, according to news.com.  She was also working as a fashion model at the time.

The model was taken to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital after the incident where she was treated for “fatal injuries” and put on life support. On Thursday night, the Miss Universe finalist Sienna Weir passed away eventually because of her wounds.

Tom Bull, her lover, said in one of the tragic tributes he saw on social media: “We loved with a love that was more than love.”

Weir has been riding horses since she was three years old and was an accomplished rider. Although the circumstances surrounding the tragedy are yet unknown, Equestrian Australia’s chief executive Darren Gocher said her untimely passing has shocked the community.

“We are devastated,” Darren said. “We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Ms Weir’s family. We are very saddened by this tragedy. We respect the family’s wish for privacy at this time.”

Weir graduated from Sydney University with a double major in English literature and psychology, and it was said that she was preparing to go to London in order to further her modeling career.

She was represented by Scoop Model Management at the time of her passing, and the agency posted a tribute to the model on Instagram.

They posted a video of the lady modeling along with the Coldplay song Everglow, along with the phrase “Forever in our hearts.”

Jasmin Selberg, the winner of Miss International 2022, said beneath Weir’s most recent Instagram photo, “As a fellow equestrian, this pains me even more. Rest in Peace.”

A moving obituary for Weir was also posted on Instagram Stories by photographer Chris Dwyer. He wrote: “You were one of the kindest souls in the world, you lit up a room and the world is a lot darker now you’re gone. Hope wherever you are, you’re being the gremlin we all know and love. Miss you so much already.”

In the Australian Miss Universe 2022 pageant, Weir was one of 27 finalists. Weir discussed her desire to go to London and her aspirations to continue modeling in an interview with Gold Coast Magazine. She earned a double degree in English literature and psychology from Sydney University and loved to write poems.

Whether reading, writing, or speaking, she said, “I place a great level of importance on self-expression through language, and this is something I really want to maintain through both my professional and artistic pursuits.”

The model also spoke about how much she enjoyed riding horses, something she had done since she was three years old. Every other weekend, I compete across New South Wales or the rest of Australia, so I commute two to three times a week to rural Sydney for training.
