American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, 41, brought joy to her fans by sharing a delightful encounter on Instagram. With a post reaching her 7.1 million followers, Clarkson described the incident, explaining that she was en route to her soundcheck for the iHeartRadio event in Las Vegas. There, she came across an incredible woman belting out Tina Turner songs, completely unaware of Clarkson’s identity.
Clarkson shared the story, stating, “I was on my way to soundcheck for @iHeartRadio tonight in Vegas and was tipping this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner and then she asked me to sing and had no clue who I was.” She added, “And then it hit her, and it made my day! She gives the best hugs and sings her heart out! See you tonight, Vegas! #iHeartFestival2023.”
In the video, Kelly Clarkson sported a relaxed outfit, wearing a black baseball cap, leggings, and a long-sleeved shirt. She delivered a rendition of Tina Turner’s 1984 hit, “What’s Love Got to Do With It.”
The woman, dressed in jeans and a black-and-white raglan T-shirt, appeared to recognize Kelly only after she sang a few lines of the song.
Later in the day, Kelly Clarkson returned to her Instagram account to generate excitement for her upcoming performance. She shared a poster for the event and in her caption, she eagerly exclaimed, “Vegas, I’m coming to see you tonight! Tune in for the live stream of #iHeartFestival2023 on @Hulu at 7pm PT! #iHeartOnHulu @iHeartRadio.”
Her appearance at the iHeartRadio Festival this weekend followed her successful Vegas residency at Planet Hollywood last month. During the residency, she showcased songs from her album “Chemistry,” with a deluxe version releasing that Friday.
In a heartwarming moment, the singer brought her two children onstage with her during one of her residency performances last month.
Describing the experience on the Today show, Clarkson expressed, “It was the most magical thing to be on stage with them — I didn’t know it was going to happen. But the way my kids were looking at me? They had an absolute blast on stage. Moreover, the way they gazed at me, it was as if I was Thor! I was truly taken aback, thinking, ‘Oh my God, they’re never going to look at me this way again.'”
Clarkson is a proud mother to her son, River, aged 9, and daughter, Remy, aged 7, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The couple divorced in 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage.
