The beloved 1998 film “Ever After: A Cinderella Story” recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. The romantic period drama, which skillfully retold the classic tale of Cinderella, captivated audiences over the years. Drew Barrymore starred as the film’s protagonist, Danielle De Barbarac, while Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds played the wicked stepsisters. Dougray Scott played the leading man, Prince Henry. The Drew Barrymore Show recently featured a segment in which Drew Barrymore, Melanie Lynskey, and Megan Dodds celebrated the film’s 25th anniversary.
Recently, the talk show hosted by Drew Barrymore, which enjoys high popularity, aired a special episode titled “Ever After”. In this episode, the show’s leading lady was joined by her onscreen step sisters, Melanie Lynskey and Megan Dodds, and the trio recreated their respective characters by appearing in their original costumes.
Additionally, Dougray Scott, who played the role of Prince Harry, made a special appearance on the show through a video call.

Drew Barrymore exclaimed that the event was not just a show, but rather a journey back in time through a time machine, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Ever After”. She expressed her disbelief at being able to attend the event alongside her sisters and step-sisters, dressed in a beige embellished gown with wings, resembling Cinderella.
The women discussed the significance of the movie to them and how Dodds and Lynskey resided together in France while producing it. The film featured Dougray Scott as Danielle’s royal love interest, alongside Toby Jones, Timothy West, Judy Parfitt, and Patrick Godfrey.
Dougray Scott shared a story on The Drew Barrymore Show about his experience auditioning for the role of Prince Henry in the movie Ever After: A Cinderella Story. He revealed that he was initially rejected for the part, but his agent was able to arrange another audition. Scott pleaded with the casting directors and said, “Give me another chance,” which ultimately led to him getting the role. The actor also mentioned how Drew Barrymore, the movie’s lead actress, played a significant role in his getting the part. When Barrymore was asked about it, she replied, “There was nobody else.”
